The Bible, made up of the Old Testament and the New Testament, is the scripture of Christianity. Over the years there was much discussion about which books should be officially recognized. In 367 Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria, in an Easter letter announces the books for Christianity. Various church councils in the years that followed adopted this list. So Christians believe that the Bible is the “Word of God in the words of human beings.”
